Reciting Durood Before & After the Adha'an

In this day and age- where the wahabi's and the deobandi's are infiltrating in every nook and corner- so many of our practices are being questioned by the youth of today whether it is permissible or not and whether we- all have fallen into the trap of "Shirk" or "Bid'ah".

Hence, I am clearing out a topic that has always raised many questions and doubts in the  minds of people. This is with regards to reading the Durood before pronouncing the Adh'an (Azaan). The extremists and the Wahabi's and the Deobandi's claim that this is a "Bid'ah (An innovation). But it is not.

The teachers and the scholars of the Ahle-Sunnah Wal- Jamah have agreed that it is permissible to recite the Durood Shareef before and/or after the Adh'an. This is a current practice in most Arab countries.

The scholars have based this view on the fact that ALLAH when instructing us to recite Durood in -

"O ye who Believe! Send Durood and Salaams upon him in abundance." (Part 22, Ruku 4)

- did NOT limit any time or place or condition or situation making it "Mutlaqan". Hence this act will be "Mustahab" NOT fardh or sunnat. So, those who practice it will be rewarded and those who ignore it will not be punished.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings upon him) said that when we hear the voice of the Muad'hin - we should repeat whatever he has said and then send Durood Shareef upon him. He (Peace and blessings upon him) said that the person who sends one Durood upon him- ALLAH will reward that person with ten of HIS Mercies (Sahih Muslim)

Hence, by the above hadith it is proven that recitation of the Durood Shareef after the Adh'an is a permissible act. Also in another hadith- the blessed Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings upon him) has said- "If when performing any good deed you do not commence with the praise of ALLAH and send Durood upon me, then that deed is empty of blessings." (Al-Jamiah us-sagheer)

So- pray do tell me which muslim out there does not consider Adh'an to be a good deed?

In fact it was the Great Salahud'een Ayubi (Radhi ALLAHu ta'aala anhu) who gave the command of Durood Shareef to be recited before and after the Adh'an! He (Radhi ALLAHu ta'aala anhu) was a very great and a pious king who liberated the Baitul Maqdas and great Muhadditheen and Muhaqqiqeen made dua's for him.

So- it is your choice- do you want to follow on the footsteps of the friends of ALLAH or the ones who are following the deeds of Iblis?

Your choice….

Remember me & my family in your duas..

Wassalam
