Assalam-u-alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Recently I was sent an article that stated that NASA had confirmed the sun rising from the west.

To ensure its accuracy- I went online NASA & checked & found nothing.

But, I did find that after the massive earthquakes in CHILE & HAITI- NASA did mention that the there was a shift in the axis of the earth- which would lead to days shortening.

There was also another article where NASA experts had commented that there was a possibility of Sun rising from the west on Mars- due to a rotational shift.

But- the above is not the focus of my discussion- My discussion today is on :

Are we -muslims to believe what science tells us or do we believe in Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)?

Yes, that is the critical crux of our thinking- we have become so accustomed to science & logic that at times- we refute what even the Quran says- Astagfirullah!!!

For eg., the Blessed Prophet's (PBUH) journey on Mairaj- there is a sect of muslims who discard that this is feasible as such a thing defies logic! Defies logic!

When we say LOGIC- what are we referring to- our brains & its limited understanding! Is this not what Iblees did when he was asked to bow down before Prophet Adam (AS)? He used his "logic" that he was created of fire whereas Prophet Adam (PBUH) was created out of wet earth so logically (as per his warped sense of logic)- fire is better than wet earth! So he defied ALLAH.

Are we also going to allow ourselves to be controlled by "logic" & defy what is written in the Quran & what has been told by the blessed Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself?

A point to ponder on.

Before the major earthquakes in Chile & Haiti- Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had told us that end of days- there would be a day that would be very long stretching into 3 or more days & prayer should be conducted as per normal routine but such a thing was impossible to believe & science refuted that. But after the major earthquakes- there was a shift in the axis which can lead to shorter days- meaning there is a possibility of another change happening- maybe longer days?

Our Blessed Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that on the final days- the sun would rise from the west! Once again science refuted such a notion but today have come up with the probability that such an event due to a rotational shift can occur on the planet Mars- so why not on Earth?

My dear muslim brothers & sisters- we are in very troubled times where Islam is not only being attacked from outside but also from inside.

There are sects of "so-called" muslims who are using terrorism as a tool which is COMPLETELY forbidden in Islam.

There are sects of muslims who prefer oppression & subjugation of women in Islam- once again a thought which is completely against the teachings of Islam.

Today- we see our very basic values being attacked in public:

OUR WAY OF LIVING- wearing the Niqab & the hijab has been made ILLEGAL in Europe
OUR BELIEF- Mockery of our blessed & noble Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) through cartoons & wrong images.
OUR VALUES- when all muslims & our religion are being labelled as "Terrorists" because of deviant sects claiming the title of Muslims are using such tools.

We are being ridiculed in public & on print & everywhere yet we so blatantly follow the non-muslims in their thinkings? Why?

The non-muslims claim that it is not possible for the sun to rise from the west- so we believe & accept the "weak & baseless" arguments they put forth.

The non-muslims claim that wearing "hijab" is a form of oppression & we readily give up & follow them in dressing in immodest attire.

The non-muslims claim that the principles of Islam have no standing in terms of logic & science & we accept their comments & feel ashamed of the values given to us by our religion!

The non-muslims claim that Islam does not allow muslims to have fun- such as drinking, partying, smoking, drugs, music & dancing- my question is who claims that those activities are fun? Is there any proof?

Some people find fun & relaxation in reading whereas some find it in loud music & clubbing. Some find it fun to smoke whereas to others it just induces headaches!

So- who defines fun? But, man is a social animal who to get accepted in society will change his very own self.

My question is - to which lengths is a person willing to go to to get accepted by people & society.

Hey, if your friends can't accept who YOU are then they are not your true friends & well-wishers.

and anyway- when a person is buried in the grave- will their friends follow them to take care of their bodies- which insects & other animal will eat it? Tell me?

We- as muslims have to put a stop to such accusations & practices & the way to do this is to feel proud that you are a muslim.

You have been given knowledge in advance through the Quran & the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

What science is discovering now- we knew it beforehand- because we had the best teacher ever- Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

We are muslims & we are not oppressed. Oppressed are the non-muslims because they are oppressed by society & what it wants them to be like. So, when it is fashionable to be thin- they starve themselves & when it is fashionable to be heavy - they eat!

They spend their hard-earned money into buying those materialistic things that their society expects them to have & do things that the society expects them to do- so who is oppressed - us- Muslims- who ONLY aim to please ALLAH or them- who spend their whole lives trying to please EVERY TOM, DICK & HARRY that comes their way!!!

We are muslims & we should be proud of ourselves. We should answer their taunts by holding more tighter to the ropes of our religion.

Recently- when the Catholic Church was exposed & even their Pope & priests were brought in this battle- what did the Catholics do? Did they resort to violence? No, they showed their support of their church by attending churches more & showing their support for their Pope.

We - muslims have the best example in the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). We don't anyone else to tell us if we are good or bad. We ONLY need ALLAH's approval & HIS approval is through the intense love & respect of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

So, let us come together & promise to spend atleast 5 minutes of our busy days by sending salawat on the blessed Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
